CubeSpace is looking for an experienced and delivery-focused Product Team Lead (Software Products) to lead the delivery of our software product portfolio, including a suite of software applications that support satellite operations, ground support systems, and customer-facing interfaces.

This role is responsible for driving products through the full software development lifecycle, ensuring that software releases are delivered on time, integrated effectively with broader engineering programmes, and aligned with business and customer requirements.

As the execution authority for the Software Product team, you will provide day-to-day leadership to a team of software engineers, champion Agile delivery practices, and coordinate shared software resources across multiple engineering teams. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining strong technical understanding with exceptional project leadership and people management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivery & Execution

  • Own the delivery of the Software Product portfolio, ensuring releases are delivered on time and to plan
  • Lead sprint planning, release planning, and backlog execution using Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain delivery plans and task structures in Odoo.
  • Monitor team velocity, capacity, and delivery health, proactively identifying and removing blockers.
  • Manage risks and dependencies while maintaining release commitments.

Software Lifecycle Management

  • Oversee the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering through design, development, testing, and release.
  • Coordinate software release milestones that support hardware product lifecycle gates and systems engineering integration points.
  • Ensure software deliverables are complete, verified, and delivered according to programme requirements.
  • Maintain software configuration baselines and change control processes within GitHub.

Systems Engineering & Cross-Functional Integration

  • Coordinate software requirements, architectures, interfaces, and integration activities with Product Owners, Hardware Team Leads, and the Chief Systems Engineer.
  • Align software roadmaps with delivery plans and cross-functional integration schedules.
  • Ensure software deliverables support broader systems engineering and product lifecycle objectives.

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, coach, and support a team of software engineers in a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Manage task allocation, sprint priorities, and team capacity.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to support development and remove obstacles.
  • Foster Agile best practices and continuous improvement within the team.

Shared Resource & Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate the allocation of software engineering resources across multiple product teams.
  • Participate in cross-functional planning forums and integrated programme discussions.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering Managers, Product Owners, Program Managers, and Principal Engineers to manage dependencies and priorities.
  • Contribute to recruitment and team growth initiatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BEng, BTech, or BSc in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Postgraduate qualifications or recognised Agile certifications (Certified Scrum Master, SAFe, or equivalent) will be advantageous.
  • 7–12 years of relevant software engineering or software delivery experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a delivery leadership, Scrum Master, or software project management role.
  • Proven experience leading Agile software teams in a product development environment.
  • Experience managing software releases and coordinating delivery within complex engineering organisations.
  • Exposure to systems engineering practices and hardware-software integration environments will be advantageous.

Competencies:

  • Strong Agile and Scrum project management capability.
  • Experience with sprint planning, release management, backlog management, and retrospectives.
  • Working proficiency with GitHub, including version control, branching strategies, and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience with project and task management systems such as Odoo, Jira, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with software configuration management, change control, and integration planning.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and engineering delivery methodologies.
