Sales Engineer

Department: Sales & Marketing
Reports To: Sales Engineering Manager
Location: Stellenbosch
Employment Type: Full-time

CubeSpace is looking for a hungry, ambitious Sales Engineer. Someone who is laser-focused on closing deals, thrives in a high-performance environment, and wants to make their mark in the global space industry. This is not a research or strategy role, this is a pure execution position where your mission is converting interest into revenue.

You’ll be responsible for answering customer enquiries, preparing technical and commercial proposals, and chasing down opportunities with discipline and urgency.

We’re looking for a highly motivated junior professional, who is eager to prove themselves and build a name as a top technical salesperson in one of the world’s most exciting industries. If you're competitive, commercially sharp, and not afraid to hustle, this is your chance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond rapidly and professionally to inbound sales enquiries
  • Actively hunt for new leads and opportunities that will expand the sales pipeline
  • Prepare and submit compelling technical and commercial proposals and quotations
  • Drive and close new business across global markets, with a focus on responsiveness, persistence, and accuracy
  • Develop a solid understanding of CubeSpace’s ADCS products and confidently communicate their capabilities
  • Work with technical teams to understand customer needs and translate them into effective solutions
  • Track and manage the sales pipeline, follow up proactively, and close deals
  • Maintain accurate sales data in the CRM and ERP systems
  • Support CubeSpace’s presence at international conferences, representing the company at booths and meetings
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth handover and successful customer onboarding

Minimum Requirements:

  • A technical diploma or degree (electronics, mechanical, mechatronics)
  • At least 3 years strong hunting sales experience, with a proven track record and available performance figures.
  • A clear desire to work in sales and a passion for winning
  • Exposure to, or a strong interest in, technical sales processes (qualifying leads, positioning calls, overcoming objections, negotiating deals, and closing)
  • Comfortable handling technical conversations, even if not the subject matter expert
  • Willingness to take ownership, be accountable, and keep pushing until the sale is won
  • A strong problem-solving mindset and the ability to find practical, fast-moving solutions
  • A self-starter who thrives under pressure, works independently, and prioritizes high-impact actions
  • Comfortable with global business contexts, including basic understanding of export controls, shipping logistics, and pricing fundamentals
  • Needs to be able to do extensive international travel to exhibitions and customers (can be as often as monthly)
  • After-hours flexibility to meet with customers in different time zones
  • Excellent written communication skills (proposal and quotation writing is a core function)

Shortlisted applicants will be expected to demonstrate their problem-solving skills and commercial instincts during the interview process.
